Laws Of The Land THE HOUNDS |
“So, before you join our ranks, you need to know how we like to run our little city. Have a seat in the shade over here and I’ll get right to it.”
“To start off, let’s have chat about our Site Rules:
-When applying to join The Hounds, please make one account per character – We need to know how many mouths we have to feed. You may make an OOC account if you wish.
-The minimum age limit is 13, so please be aware of this and keep the rating at PG-13 in all threads
-Please mark your threads appropriately:
-Now, when you’re OOC, please be polite and respectful to each other and do not let OOC and IC matters cross over. When you’re IC, this doesn’t always apply. With the harsh times, many a fight can break out over the scraps.
-None of this powerplaying or godmodding business either, and flawless characters will not be tolerated. Let’s be honest, nobody’s perfect when you don’t know where your next meal is coming from.
-We do expect proper spelling and grammar to be used in and out of character, this is a writing site after all so please do your best.”
“Think that just about covered it – onto Making Characters next:
-We allow pretty much any canine you can think of here. Here’s a list of who will be accepted within our walls
-Be specific which type of wolf/dog etc. you are when signing up please and note any bans on certain species.
-All characters must be realistic to their species when they arrive at Saint Lawrence. That means accurate sizing, fur colour, eye colour etc.
-For the sake of activity, you are limited to 2 canines in leadership positions at any time, and can only make a second character when you have at least 10 posts with your first.
-As I said before, you can develop mutations during your time here, but they can only come through role playing. I can tell you more about those later if you’re interested.
“Now onto the fun part – Fighting:
-Fights and Skirmishes can break out anywhere and over anything, and unless its official, there will be no judge or rules.
-Be aware your character can die in certain situations, but if a small skirmish develops into a death match a judge will can called to decide which wolf wins.
-All official fights take place in The Arena. This is an area in the city with its own set of rules, and its own fighting system.
-In general, Arena fights will fall into three categories.
-In an Arena fight, each opponent takes turn making moves. Moves are made up of attacks and defences. A counter attack is responding to an attack while making a move yourself. You should write about your defences every post e.g head lowered, wide stance, raised hackles.
-Your Fight will be judged by an unbiased member on the site. Anyone on the site may judge - Just ask for someone to volunteer, or ask a staff member.
-You will be judged on your realism and detail. You wolf WILL take damage, and you cannot avoid very attack. How realistically you role play the Fight, how good your attack/defences are, how logical they are and the quality of writing will affect the outcome.
-You lose automatically if you do not reply to an Arena Fight thread within 2 weeks. You may choose the number of moves/if you can use mutations to help or not etc. between yourselves in the first post of the thread.
-If you are not in the Arena and a Skirmish stats, you must resolve it between yourselves. It’s every wolf for himself out there, so be prepared. Anyone can take part, or intervene in an ongoing Skirmish.
-If during a Skirmish a character intends to try and kill another (must be stated in their post), an unbiased judge will be called to decide whether they are successful.
"Just quick heads up about Breeding - is a rather taboo topic around here, so keep your voice down:
-Due to a mixture of malnourished and radiation poisoning, many of the canines here are unable to breed. If you wish to see if your wolf is fertile, please as a staff member who will roll a dice for you.
-Be warned though, even if your character can breed, it is strictly forbidden by many of the pack or gang leaders. There is barely enough food as it is without pups as well.
-Check with your alpha (if you have one) if you can breed, as some are more forgiving than others. If you disobey their wishes, be prepared for the consequences.
-If you wish for your character to mate, you must fade to black and keep things PG13
-You may only have a maximum of three pups, and a staff member will use a generator to decide their eye/coat colour, general health, gender and if they live to 1 year. It is unlikely to have more than one pup survive due to the harsh conditions.
"Oh I almost forgot - We must talk about those shiny Images you travelers like to use:
-We do not condone theft of characters, artwork or graphics here. Please get permission from the original artist, or use stock photos and credit them correctly
-Avatars must be 250 x 350 pixels and signatures cannot be wider than 900 pixels
-The mini profile image must be 210 x 100 pixels and your profile header 900 x 400 pixels
-Only the Avatar image is compulsory, all others are optional. Your avatar must resemble your character for ease of role playing"
"I bet you are eager to move on after all that - follow me to hear about the plot and setting of The Hounds"
