Vials and Mutations THE HOUNDS |
"Here at The Hounds we have a system where you earn points by posting new threads and replies IC, and once you have enough you can unlock mutations and abilities for your character.
These points are called Vials and the more you collect, the more mutations your character develops. Due to the radiation in Saint Lawrence from the all the toxic chemicals in the water and the Power Station, some canines can experience strange changes to themselves.
How to get Vials:
Be active! You are rewarded for posting with your character in the various territories - unfortunately OOC areas do not help your total.
+5 Vials:
+10 Vials:
+15 Vials:
Mutations:
Once you have collect enough Vials, you may choose from a number of mutations to add them to your character. Below is a list of what you can earn.
At each level of Mutation, you may choose ONE of the listed possibilities. This is to ensure each character is unique, and does not give any one wolf a huge advantage over another. Most of these mutations are purely visual and will not give your wolf any drastic powers.
Also note that Vials are NOT 'used' up - you do not lose them after gaining a mutation.
When you have chosen what you want, post in the Mutations thread under Updates. A member of staff will approve your choice and update your characters bio for you.
Once this happens the change is official, and your character can gain that mutation by any means you like. It could just suddenly manifest, or you could role play the gradual change due to the radiation, whatever feels more natural to you.
Mutation Level 1: 25 Vials
(Choose 1)
(All marking must be realistic wolf colours, and of natural shapes - No blue tiger stripes or pink stars)
Mutation Level 2: 50 Vials
Mutation Level 3: 100 Vials
If you have any more mutation ideas, please make a suggestion in the correct board. If it is implemented you will receive 5 Vials!

- Adopt a character from the Adoptions board.

- Complete 5 requests in your graphic shop
- Be one of the 5 each month to complete The Hunt

- Any Eye Colour (both eyes must be the same)
- Pink Nose Colour
- Simple Marking or Scar (eg. White Chest Patch, Pink Scar on Chest, Torn Ear, Black Tail Tip, White Ear Tips)
- Webbed Paws
- Longer Teeth and Claws
- Size decreased by 1"
- Size increased by 1"
- Bio-luminescence Strain 1 (Paw pads, Eyes and Mouth glow in the dark. Colour matches Eye Colour)
- Bio-luminescence Strain 2 (Fur glows in the dark. Colour matches Eye Colour)
- Any Individual Eye Colours
- White Eyes or Black eyes (no pupil, results in blindness)
Mutation Level 3: 100 Vials
- Rams Horns
- Antlers
- Size increased by 2"
- Size decreased by 2"
- Feathers on Neck (Choose what bird type)
- Discover a new location (Choose which District)
- Albinism (Fur loses all colour, eyes go red. Can be passed on to pups)
